Pat Kelleher
Chief Executive Officer

Pat was formerly President and CEO, Insurance and Wealth Management and President and CEO, U.S. Life Insurance at Genworth Financial. He also guided Genworth Financial through the 2008-2009 financial crisis as Chief Financial Officer.

Prior, at AEGON/Transamerica Reinsurance, Pat was Executive Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer with overall responsibility for leading financial functions, providing access to capital markets funding, risk management, and leading the annuity reinsurance business.

While at Manulife Financial, Pat was Vice-President, Reinsurance, with overall responsibility for leading the global life and financial reinsurance businesses.

Pat began his career at Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada, with experience in financial management, information technology, actuarial, life insurance and annuity marketing and product management.

Pat is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, and a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants Association of Canada. Pat received his Bachelor’s degree from Franklin & Marshall College.

Bob Reale
Chief Actuary and Chief Underwriting Officer

Bob most recently was in the Insurance Solutions Group at BNP Paribas, where he created and lead innovative capital solutions for life insurers. Previously, he served as Deutsche Bank’s Chief Actuary for all life financing transactions.

Prior to his time on Wall Street, Bob was the life insurance structured financing solutions practice leader at Towers Wyatt (now Willis Towers Watson), consulting life insurers, reinsurers, and banks on numerous capital management and insurance-related activities.

Bob’s reinsurance experience includes founding Annuity and Life Re in Bermuda as Chief Underwriter and Chief Operating Officer and was instrumental in their successful $350 million public launch.

At Swiss Re, Bob was head of actuarial marketing for US life reinsurance operations. Bob was also President of two companies within Swiss Re and served on the Board of Directors for RGA-Swiss Financial.

Bob graduated from Fordham University in with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Brian Holland
Chief Marketing Officer

Brian was Senior Vice President of the Life Solutions Group at Willis Re, a team responsible for building Willis Re’s entry into the life and annuity reinsurance market.

As Principal in the advisory firm Mann Conroy Eisenberg & Associates, Brian created risk management and securitization solutions for insurers, reinsurers, banks and large benefit plans.

Brian served as Executive Vice President and member of the Board of Directors at Annuity & Life Re America, developing the new U.S. life reinsurance operations.

Brian was Vice President, Domestic and International Risk Management at ING Re. Serving as Global Chief Marketing Officer, he also developed ING Re’s entry into the Bermuda and Japan markets.

Brian also held senior marketing and underwriting positions at Transamerica Re and General Re. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management /Marketing from Providence College.


Steeve Jean
Chief Financial Officer

Steeve was most recently a Principal with KPMG. He has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry, working with international insurance groups and Big Four firms. At KPMG, Steeve assisted companies with International Accounting Standards, reinsurance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, actuarial system implementations, stress testing and financial statement conversions.

Prior to KPMG, Steeve was a Vice-President at Transamerica where his responsibilities included financial reporting, capital management, acquisitions and reinsurance with financial oversight over international operations.

At Old Mutual, Steeve led a team responsible for both U.S. and Bermuda financial reporting.

Steeve spent several years at Ernst & Young where he led the delivery of large advisory projects. Steeve began his career with MetLife’s Canadian operations with a focus on financial management for both the group and individual life divisions.

Steeve is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He obtained is Bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Sherbrooke.”

Stephen Gallant
Chief Investment Officer

Prior to co-founding Somerset Re, Stephen was Head of Rates for ING Investment Management’s Proprietary Fixed Income Group. Stephen served on the group’s Executive Team, which oversaw the firm’s $80 billion portfolio. He was directly responsible for all interest rate sensitive products, including the highly successful mortgage derivative strategy, which was one of the largest such strategies in the U.S. Stephen also helped develop an offshore trust for ING Japan and managed a holding company opportunity fund.

Prior to his role at ING, Stephen spent 14 years in fixed income trading, where he traded corporate bonds, preferred stocks, and mortgage-backed securities.

Stephen was a founder and co-manager of Portage Equity Investments I and II, an early-stage venture capital fund. Stephen currently is a member of the investment committee for the Clemson University Foundation.

Stephen is a member of the CFA Institute, where he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Washington University in St. Louis.

Tom Conroy
Chief Administrative and Compliance Officer

As Managing Partner at Mann Conroy Eisenberg & Assoc., Tom led the team that conceptualized, developed, and obtained patents on financial derivatives for transferring mortality and longevity risk to the capital markets and for a method to maximize the value of corporate life Insurance programs.

As President of ING Reinsurance, Tom led the unit from a mid-sized U.S. life reinsurance operation to #1 market share in North America. As President of ING Institutional Markets, he created a business producing consistent earnings growth. Tom also served as Chief Financial Officer at ING’s Security Life of Denver and built the firm’s investment unit.

As CFO and a Director of Teton Energy, Tom built the financial unit as they moved from the Vancouver Stock Exchange to a U.S. registration. As a Director he chaired the Audit Committee and the Nominating & Governance Committee. Tom began his career at Ernst & Ernst (now Ernst & Young), where he helped to developed their first audit software package.

Tom is a retired captain in the US Army Reserve. He earned an MBA (Mathematical Models and Computer Sciences) from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science degree (Accounting) from DePaul University. Tom is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Scott Selkirk
Managing Director – Pricing

Scott was previously the Head of Pricing at Standard Life of Canada’s Bermuda Branch where he led the evaluation of all new reinsurance opportunities and was responsible for client relationship management.

As Vice President at ACE Tempest Life Re, Scott was involved in all aspects of new business including pricing, client relations and treaty negotiation, covering both variable annuity guarantee and traditional life reinsurance solutions.

Prior to relocating to Bermuda in 2007, Scott worked for New York Life, ING, and MetLife where he held various actuarial roles, mainly focused on product development, where he worked closely with distribution teams to bring innovative and sophisticated life insurance solutions to market.

Scott is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Statistics from Boston University.
